News Desk:  Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that commodity prices have increased and people with limited income are suffering. However, he also said that the government is taking measures keeping that in mind. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said these things in response to a supplementary question by Awami League member Samil Uddin Ahmed Shimul in Parliament on Wednesday (May 08). Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury presided over the Parliament session.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, we are now serving the people with the manpower we have in TCB. And we are taking measures keeping in mind that common people do not suffer. Yes, commodity prices have gone up, which has implications, especially for those with limited incomes. But for those who can or are producing themselves in the village, there is not much suffering, there is no lamentation.

He said, we always try to keep the prices under control. As we have taken steps to increase the production of the required products in the country, we are also importing them, no matter how much money it takes. But we are spending, due to which our reserves are also under pressure. Even if there is pressure on the reserves, the welfare of the people is the most important thing. We are aiming at that.

The head of government said that the family card that we have given, we have also given an opportunity to buy rice and other products at a low price. And for those who are poorer, we have arranged to sell rice at a lower price. And those who are poor, I am giving them free rice. With the manpower that TCB has now, we are able to control everything properly.
